"The mission of the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon is to conquer pediatric cancer by providing outstanding emotional and financial support to the children, families, researches and staff of the Four Diamonds Fund."
After a year of fundraising, a 46 hour, no-sleeping, no-sitting dance marathon called THON takes place at the Bryce Jordan Center to celebrate and create awareness for pediatric cancer. This year, THON will take place February 21-23.
"This effort engages more than 15,000 students across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in hopes of finding a cure." THON is the largest student run philanthropy in the world and, since the first year in 1977, has raised over $101 million benefitting the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital.
Just last year alone, in 2013, THON raised $12.37 million dollars!
